Offered in collaboration with NFTY, Moving Traditions is now recruiting national applicants for our 2019-2020 program.
Kol Koleinu (Hebrew for “All Our Voices”) is a 10-month, national feminist fellowship for 10th-12th grade teens of all genders. Participants will explore and deepen their feminist knowledge, strengthen their voices, and build their leadership skills through teaching, learning, and activism in their communities and beyond. The program consists of two in-person weekend gatherings and meets monthly online as a supportive learning community. You’ll have opportunities to teach other Jewish teens about feminism and social change. Participants will work in small teams on activist projects with support from adult mentors. The $360 fee to participate will help underwrite the costs of the program; scholarship funds are available.
Past projects include: Creating materials for school and youth group-based workshops to promote freedom of gender expression through exploration of clothing choices and gender norms. Creating and distributing “feminist fortune candies” with affirming and body positive messages to support the mental health of high school students. Creating, publishing, and distributing a zine reclaiming the word “feminist.”
