High School Students are invited to compete in The Norman Alexander Award for Excellence in Jewish Student Writing by submitting a 500-word essay on: Who Do You Think Should be in the Jewish-American Hall of Fame? Subjects can be deceased or living, with accomplishments in any field.
The winner will receive $500 plus the Alexander Award Medal, and will have his/her essay published in the Jewish Week and on the websites of Fresh Ink for Teens and the Jewish-American Hall of Fame.
Essays not exceeding 500 words should be emailed by May 29 to Lily Weinberg at firstname.lastname@example.org. Consideration will be given to originality, creativity and writing style. The writer should indicate why his or her accomplishments are meaningful to you? All entries must include the name of the high school and the grade of the entrant. There is a limit of one entry per student.
